All roads lead to Rome: Upcoming 16th WAIMH 2018 congress in the "eternal city"

It is now less than one month to the next congress of the World Association for Infant Mental Health (WAIMH) which will take place in Rome (Italy) from the 26th to the 30th of May.

The core theme of the WAIMH this year will be focus on the relationships between nature and nutrutre and the related challenges for infant mental health in the next years. Consistent with this main topic, on Sunday, May 27th, together with two international colleagues - Tim Oberlander, University of British Columbia, Vancouver; Elisabeth Conradt, University of Utah, Salt Lake City - I will present a symposium entitled "How early experiences get under the skin: Epigenetic mechanisms linking adversity exposure, maternal care and infants' developmental outcomes".

This is the complete list of contributions:

Tim Oberlander

Prenatal serotonin reuptake inhibitor antidepressant exposure, SLC6A4 genetic variations and neonatal methylation status alter stress challenge cortisol response in 6 yr old children of depressed mothers

Livio Provenzi

Stress exposure associates with telomere length erosion in very preterm infants

Elisabeth Conradt

Maternal responsiveness is related to DNA methylation of NR3C1 and cortisol reactivity in infancy

Looking forward to meeting you in Rome!
